MEDITATION WILL HELP YOU FINALLY PUT MIND OVER MATTER

BE AWARE OF YOUR THOUGHTS – PRACTICE POSITIVE THOUGHT PATTERNS 

This month, let’s challenge ourselves to eliminate negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts. Label your thoughts/emotions into 3 categories, Positive, Negative or Neutral. For every negative thought you notice, you should have three positive thoughts ready to replace them. Since the brain is a muscle, we can train it to subconsciously replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts. The more you work at it, the healthier your brain will be. Keep in mind that when you stop training this muscle, it will get weaker over time just like any other muscle in the body would.  

TURN DOWN THE NOISE

Balancing your busy schedule and social life can be hectic at times and let’s be honest, we’ve all wished we could press pause and turn down the noise for a second. Meditation is one of the most beneficial things we can do to heal the mind and gain some clarity in moments when we need it the most. Try these quick meditation tricks this month. 1st, close your eyes, and listen to the sounds around you. Feel how your body reacts and try to determine if you’re able to control your thought patterns with solely positive thoughts. If it isn’t working as well as you hoped, try to identify what is preventing you and come up with solutions to fix it in the moment. Your 2nd challenge this week is to find a song that you find motivating and play it every morning when you are getting ready.

IDENTIFY YOUR FEARS

Identifying your fears can be as simple as repeating your negative thought patterns out loud to yourself. This could feel awkward at first, but it will give you a deeper understanding of the subconscious negativity that holds you back.  If you are in public, it would be embarrassing to do this out loud, so try whispering it to yourself so you can at least acknowledge the thought out loud and understand it from a different perspective. Identifying your fears is an essential step to acknowledging the root of your overall negative emotions and thought patterns and it will help pave a clearer path to a long-term solution.
