Benefits of Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy

A lot of people these days are taking therapeutic matters into their own hands. They are believing more and more in natural therapies or at-home remedies. Well, I think it’s great! Not only because it is natural, but because people are taking their health into their own hands and taking action when they want it. For those of you that don’t know, aromatherapy is basically the use of naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to be used for a variety of reasons. You know that friend of yours that has tons of essential oils and diffusers? Well, that is aromatherapy at its finest, and I am willing to bet that they will claim that it helps them in a variety of different ways. I believe them 100% because it’s true and aromatherapy works for me personally and many people in different ways.

Some of the most common uses for aromatherapy are stress relief, energy promoter, healing rate increase, headache/pain reliever, sleep encouragement, and improved digestion. There are so many more than this small list, and you will continue to hear about them, practically forever because each person has their own personal uses/benefits for it. Stress relief is probably the biggest one, as certain aromas have been proven to relax the mind and ease stress.

Aromatherapy Is Not Just For Stress!

There are companies that sell blends of essential oils that have been specially curated to relieve certain symptoms, and then went even further and put them into roll-on bottles so you can roll it over your belly if you have a stomach-ache or on your head if you have a headache or migraine. Other companies have other scents and ingredients in spray bottles, maybe with lavender blends designed to put you at ease and help you sleep in a more relaxed state. Also, I don’t know if any essence actually aids in actually putting you into a certain REM like the medications – melatonin or sleeping pills, but I use a couple sprays of my own blends and I have noticed a significant improvement in my sleep patterns throughout the night. So they definitely help!
