A Positive Outlook Converts to a Healthier You
Do you consider yourself a negative person? Maybe you think more pessimistically then you feel you should be. Well, this could be affecting more than just your momentary attitude. In fact, it has been proven to have a much greater affect on your overall outlook, personality, and health. Yep! You read that correctly. Being positive has now been proven to make you a better person! Well, I don’t know if we can take it that far, but a better person internally, at the least!
There have been a variety of studies on all different types of people, with regard to gender, age, non-diseased persons, and even people with a multitude of diseases. Each and every study has shown the same results: A positive outlook improves health, lower risk of disease, and an improvement on controlling blood sugar, among many other things. It is clear that increasing your positive thinking can really affect your life. Even something as simple as having a more positive perception on the fact that you are getting older, can show results such as endurance and health enhancements.
If you have a hard time figuring out how to become more positive, don’t worry, you are not alone. Many people in the world are stuck in the same negative loop, reliving the same adverse feelings each and every day. In fact, every Sunday, tons of people think, “Oh no, tomorrow is Monday.” Which leads the brain to develop a feeling that Monday’s are the worst. In actuality, it isn’t. It is just another day in the week. Start thinking about it as, “Another day I get to wake up and truly enjoy the beauties of the world around me.” If that isn’t easy for you, here are a few other ways to start getting into the groove of being more positive. Remember, it is difficult to make a major change, especially a mental change, so try to start with the first two. Once you feel like implementing numbers three and four, jump right in! Applying additional positive experiences and thoughts into your lifestyle consistently will give you the best results lastingly.
Create a goal for yourself. To be noticeably more positive by a reachable date.
Start a journal and document positive experiences throughout each of your days.
Don’t forget about your journal, in fact, be sure to write down at least one positive event or experience each day.
Be kind to others. By completely certain acts of kindness, people have reported a major increase in their positivity and outlook on life. (Don’t forget to journal these as well!)
